I'm currently sitting next to my buddyboo Jessica Lam on the right, and Sherry Huang on the left. We are in seventh period chemistry, which is Mr Olson's FAVORITE CLASS! ^.^

Today, we are in the lab to review for our FINAL FINAL WHICH IS TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY POINTS. THAT'S RIGHT- TWO HUNDRED FIFTY. I SAID IT - 250 POINTS

If i fail it will kill my graade.

anyways, today is friday - meaning it is the weekend. therefore, i am very very happy!!! YAYYAYYAYAYAYAYAYA



We learned about the mole this week. NO, NOT THE MOLE ON YOUR FACE!



It is the chemistry mole, 6.02x10^23 power! YAYAYYA.. it's pretty awesome.

last week, we threw a surprise birthday party for Ji Park! we had a wonderful time at my house. she was definitely SURPRISED! haha, happy 16th birthday ji!

we played truth or dare, ate a whole lot, and most importantly, had a fun&enjoyable time!

that's what friends are for.

however, now it's finals week and the fun needs to stop.

anyways, next week is finals week. i'm worried about chem. it's 250 points, but if i ace it i have a chance to ace the CLASS, which i really really need!

can't wait until december 18th , friday. when finals are OVER! that's the best feeling in the world, and then winter break BEGINS - 2.5 week vacation!?

i am losing my freedom now. dad is taking it away from me. i've gotten my phone taken away already. because of these grades i have. i work so hard yet they are still so low. i'm restricting myself from going on facebook, limiting myself to 10 minutes a day. two weeks til finals.
our ceramics final is a big one.. 4ft ladder, ugh!

I'm doing quite terribly in school.. my chemistry grade is going way down!

My thanksgiving was wonderful.

I had some family over, but most could not make it because they were out of town.

After everyone left, I slept over Allison's house& we had a blast =]

Friday morning at 9 AM i got picked up, and headed to Hillsdale with mommy just to browse around. Nothing special, really. But we're going downtown SF on Sunday so hopefully i'll find something suitable for me. Then, we did something I've always wanted to do- eat lunch @ Whole Foods =] Hehe. Their soup is AMAZING! then, i went to prime time and worked my butt off from all that thanksgiving food in my tummy

YAY it's almost thankgiving=] i'm so excited.
3 days of school next week. then thursday is thanksgiving
=] i don't have much homework this weekend, either!

I'm dead tired. I have a lot to do this weekend. Karaoke birthday tomorrow! Family gathering on Sunday. Auntie from Philly is coming down to celebrate with us!

i'm sleepy .
league championships are this thursday and i'm leaving class at 11:10. therefore, I will miss quite a lot of classes this thursday. i'm super nervous.

Went to my little cousins' birthday halloween party on Sautday.. kind of boring with all the younger children.

bUt after, we went to my FAVORITE market in the world-hankook. korean market, AMAZING.

lovelovelove. i pigged out there and pigged out off the stuff i bought . YUM. it was in cupertino/sunnyvale area, but definitely worth it. KUDOS to my father for driving!

This week I've only been getting an average of 5 hours of sleep. It's difficult for me NOT to fall asleep in class\

My grades are slipping and are now on the border, 89%. So I must work hard and stop slacking off..

It's almost Thanksgiving break, in about a month.
I really need it

Halloween is not a break, sadly, but this year it surprisingly lands on a Saturday.

Ran the 10K (6.25miles) at Golden Gate Park in SanFrancisco today. Got 4th place for Women's!

Time to start chemistry homework, and work on my English project..

Finally done with this week, but next week I also have a lot to do.
I have my English "Arthur Project" presentation on Wednesday. It is a big 50 points, so I must prepare and present well.
Hopefully, next week I will do everything on time and not stay up!

Another Stressful week...

So this week was VERY stressful. Everyday after practice, I eat dinner , then pass out on the couch because of my exhaustion. Therefore, I immediately hit the hay and go to sleep at around 9:30. Because I haven't finished all of my homework yet, I wake up early at 5:30 AM to do the rest of my homework.
Next week, i will have many exams and quizzes, and a Chemistry Matter Test to makeup because I failed it.

Mirror of last week

Saturday was our invitational meet at Golden Gate Park! I finally won my first medal! Woot! and go jess too! =] That meet took up about 7 hours of my day.. and I came home.. didn't do any homework so I crammed it all into Sunday.

Just like last week, this week has also been very stressful. Today, I had a PE, Chem, and Chinese Test. They were all tests, not quizzes. However, even though it is very stressful, I am also having lots of fun. But i'm super tired due to my lack of sleep.

Dreadful week

This week has been a very dreadful week for me. I have had piles of homework, tests/quizzes every single day. Today, I took an English test for Book One of The Once and Future King by T.H.White. I studied quite a lot for it. Last night, I slept at 11:00 PM. However, I had to wake up at 5:30 this morning to study for that English test, until I felt confident.
I'm so glad it's Friday tomorrow, AND we will be going to go to the library tomorrow for chem! Therefore, we will be experimenting with something fun on the computer again! Hopefully.. because I love Blogger, Google Doc, and Google Site!
Can't wait until 6:00 PM tomorrow, when I will be finished with school on a Friday, finished with cross country, and finally starting my weekend homework!

Wonderful week. However, I'm failing Chemistry!

We had no school on Monday due to Labor Day ! I spent the day with my grandparents and the rest at home, doing homework. This week has been really stressful. Tonight is back-to-school night, where my parents are. And therefore, tomorrow is a minimum day! Unforunately, I failed a test this week- my 'isaquiz' in chemistry. i got a 27/50. I really need to study hard next time to raise up my F... =[ I must go to chemistry tutoring next week!

Density, Mass Volume+Thoughts

Recently, we have been working a lot on density, mass, and volume. One lab involved weighing different objects in mass and volume, and later finding the density of the object by the formula, D=M/V! We also heard Mr Olson sing the "Density song" to a famous, jolly tune.
Today, we took a quiz. "isaquiz!" It was quite hard. I wish I had studied my formulas more. I do not feel good about this quiz.. =[
Yesterday, i had my first cross country race! It was against Menlo-Atherton. I placed third! well it was a practice though... and I kind of have a headache right now. =[
I have a long weekend ahead of me! So tonight, I plan on finishing ALL of my homework , gotta get that out of the way! And have a fun, relaxing labor day holiday. The Arts&Wine will be going on, and I attend every year so I'll definitely make time for that=]

Mass, Volume, Scales, Graduated Cylinders, Labs, Reading, Scientific Method, Blogging, breaking a testube..

Yesterday, my group(Valerie, Beverly, Sherry, Nayeon) and I did a Chemistry Lab:Measurement in Chemistry. This was a very simple lab. It involved weighing eleven different objects. Mr.Olson gave us a penny, nickel,marble,black rubber stopper, green rubber stopper, container of water, fishing weight to weigh. We weighed each object in grams. Later, we weighed the small test tube, small glass bottle, paper dixie cup, and plastic cup in milileters, measured in volume.
The object that threw me off the most, by 66% error was the black rubber stopper. It seemed to me like it was what I had predicted, which was 6.2 g, but the actual mass was actually 18.55g!
I had a great day today. I didn't have any quizzes or tests, except for Chinese class which was very easy.. because I studied! However, I will have many quizzes next week.. busy weekend ahead of me! Thank God it's Friday=]

Penny Lab

Yesterday, we began our first chemistry experiment. Actually, it was a quick experiment and we were finished with it before class ended! We were a very cooperative group-me, Valerie, Nayeon, Beverly, and Sherry. In the experiment, we first wore SAFETY GOGGLES to protect our eyes, and were very careful with the sodium hydroxide, which burns skin, eyes, and clothing. Firstly, we placed zinc filling in a beaker and added sodium hydroxide to it. Then, we placed this beaker on a hot plate, where the penny was to be placed. Valerie meticulously placed all of our pennies with the tongs. Of course, the penny became hot, and coated with zinc. After, we placed the penny in cold water to rinse the penny. As a result, the penny was set back to room temperature, and then we lighted the Bunsen burner. The tongs then came along, to place the silvered penny into the flame. When the silvered penny finally changed color, it turned a yellowish gold! My favorite color is yellow, but unfortunately this penny was not a pretty yellow...

From this fun experiment, I learned many things. I learned how the penny turned silver, and also how the penny turned gold. The penny turned silver because when the penny was boiled in sodium hydroxide, the color of the penny turned silver. The penny was then held in the flame, turning it golden. This is because the zinc dissolves in sodium hydroxide, making the metallic zinc of the copper reduce. When zinc and copper are heated in a flame, it forms brass.

Goals and Thoughts

I have set many goals in my life, but during chemistry class yesterday, I thought about them more thoroughly. Firstly, I want to make the most of my next three years here at Mills High School. To do so, I must achieve good grades and graduate with them. Hopefully I will receive some sort of an award upon graduating, leaving with memories and feeling educated. Secondly, after graduating I hope to get accepted into a UC school and major in a course which I have not decided yet..
After graduating from a university, I will find a job, live happily with kids, and most importantly, enjoy life. With all my goals achieved, I will die peacefully during my sleep at an old age.
