Golf

In physical education class, golf is our new unit.

I always see gophers pop out and it is extremely cute! We named it put put.

When I play golf, I tend to chop the grass and the dirt out.

This is a nice golf website.

Golf is a very professional sport in which I will probably not play when I am older

Yay

Tonight, I'm going to a dinner banquet in the city. It's going to be @ a church.

So i'm paying $8 for this dinner

and hopefully it'll be tasty and fun! it's in SF, so i'm sure I will meet many new people

We had a track meet today on March 25 ,2010. I was required to run the 3200 m, 800 m ,and of course the 4x4 relay.

Placed first for 800 m

2nd for women in 3200 . it was really painful today after running the 800 m.

and finally the 4x4. our group came last but that's okay. we enjoyed ourselves.

overall i had a good day

i've been waiting for this day forever to be over!

Cyrano

Today we received our first book, Cyrano.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrano_de_Bergerac
Cyrano de Bergerac — born Savinien de Cyrano — was born into an old Parisian family and spent much of his childhood in Saint-Forget (now Yvelines). He went to school in Paris and spent his adult life there when he was not on a military campaign. He was not, therefore, a Gascon. Many of his fellow soldiers would have been Gascons, and their swashbuckling manner was much admired; so he may have cultivated a myth of Gascon origins. Although it is true that he was a popular poet and a fine swordsman who fought many duels, his abilities were embellished by Edmond Rostand, the playwright of Cyrano de Bergerac. Cyrano de Bergerac's writings do, in fact, indicate that he had an unusually large nose, of which he was quite proud.

David Webb and Vaccums

David Webb is pretty awesome. He came in yesterday with his wife, Joann Webb. Together, they performed many experiments. Joann Webb, his wife, was more like his assistant though. They were both very friendly and entertaining.
here is a link about vacuums! You may learn about how interesting it is and how it works.

Using the vacuum he inflated a marshmallow and it became HUGEEe. it was pinkk , too, so it was really pretty.

anyways, today we get off at 12:25! yay! it's because yesterday night was open house.

Chemistry

So we just learned about calculating calories recently. ( Calorimetry)

Wikipedia helped me learn how to calculate. It is not that hard, but you have to have some common sense too.

The world’s first ice-calorimeter, used in the winter of 1782-83, by Antoine Lavoisier and Pierre-Simon Laplace, to determine the heat evolved in various chemical changes; calculations which were based on Joseph Black’s prior discovery of latent heat. These experiments mark the foundation of thermochemistry.
